I need insurance for my 2008 ford focus. I have had an accident within the past year plus an additional moving violation point. I just really need to get the car insured or else my mom is going to take the car away from me because she wont let me drive it unless i get insurance for it. You could try one of the online companies, like Safe Auto or The General, but you’ll probably have to make some sort of down payment to get it started; that’s part of a contract, and insurance is a contract.
If you’re under 18, though, you can’t make a contract. If the Focus is financed through a bank or other lender, you’ll also have to carry comp/collision; if you don’t, they’ll add it to cover the loan balance, add the ridiculous premiums to your loan, and not even cover your interest in the car.
