Where can I find car insurance for my situation?

I’ve been without insurance for almost a year now. I canceled my old policy because I do not drive my car anymore and I’m selling it. So I finally bought a new car, and I am currently looking for insurance. But I haven’t had any insurance the past year. Where can I get insurance?

If you do not have to many points on your license, or another situation that would prevent you from acquiring insurance, than you should have no trouble. People who have not driven for years, for whatever reason can still buy insurance, as long as their license is in effect. (VALID). You can go on line to Geico, or one of the other mega insurance services. But I would recommend checking with your friends, family, co workers, for a referral to their insurance agent. Preferably a local insurance broker. They have more companies to write for, thus giving you a better choice, and better rates
I’ve found some helpful info here too:

Have a nice day.
Try Geico, Progressive, State Farm etc.. Geico would probably come back with the cheapest quote…depends on what comes up in the report they run to generate the quote…
well any where you go your going to get higher premium an down payment cause you had no ins. next time get liability with a high deductible on you self its not like you didn’t drive for a whole year. the longer you stay insured the better rates youll get an take care dont get into high debt s

Good luck!
Car insurance market is very competitive nowadays. So if you are ready to spend about half a day on computer and telephone, finally you’ll be able to find an appropriate rate.
Here is what you suppose to do:
1. You should obtain multiple car insurance quotes online. Here are just some of these sites, I’m sure there are many more:
http://www.autoinsurance.24by7info.com
http://www.wisepages.com/money/insurance/index.html
2. Even if you’ll find some attractive rates online, do not rush to sing in. Keep these numbers in mind and call your local insurance broker. Describe your situation to him and wait for his numbers.
3. Compare all quotes you’ll get online and from your broker and make your mind. However still do not rush to sing in.
4. You have to know that company, which is offering you a good rate is indeed a reputable company. http://www.AMbest is an independent rater of all insurance companies. If company, which is offering you good quotation is rated A or higher by AM best it is a good company. If it’s rated below A, I’d think twice before signing with them.
