What's up with these private car insurance company's that insure your car if it breaks down?
Auto insurance is supposed to protect you if your car’s transmission goes out AND if you hit someone. People are getting ripped off! Just makes me mad. If you can convince me why people need two auto insurance’s (one if you hit someone and one if your car breaks down) I’ll give you best answer.

Most of them are scams.
What you are talking about is an after market Warranty. Most are among the biggest rip-offs there is. You cannot, however, compare the after market warranty to regular automobile insurance, They are completely different and have different purposes.
Those are extended warranty companies, that have nothing to do with insurance, and for the most part are not worth the paper they are written on.
You need insurance because it is the law in most states that you can’t drive without it. You don’t need an extended warranty unless the manufacturer offers one, and even then it’s iffy.
I can’t convince you that someone might need insurance in case his car breaks down.
That’s not compulsory and has nothing to do with crash liability.
I never got it myself and I would hate it if they forced me to buy it.
A sucker is born every day. They found a legal way to get lots of money from them.
I assume you are talking about something like US Fidelis.
