Curious George asked:
Also how can I lower my insurance rate. Currently I have IP only (not the actual driver’s license) but have recently purchased the car. I live in OH.
I’m above 25.

It took me 5 minutes to get insurance from them and it’s the cheapest. Minimal questions.
When is the last time you had insurance?
Have you had any accidents or moving violations?
Does the car have any damage to it?
Getting older & a clean driving record will reduce your insurance costs. If you have more than one car, you will get a multi-car discount if you have both policies with the same agent.
Note: you don’t always want to go with the cheapest insurance. Check with your coworkers & friends to see who they have and how they like them.
1: How old are you
2 Type of car
3 Moving violations
4 Have you crashed lately.
You can take a defensive driving course to lower your rates. They will ask you if you have various safety features on your vehicle – like airbags, anti-lock breaks, etc, which will effect your rate. So will the type of car and the area you live in.
Following 3 questions were asked to me whn i got a license
1) Where were u on 31st feb at 12:69 am, tell me!!!!
2) Where is the money?
3) Did u drive in here?
Driving record
Work or pleasure
Miles per month
Miles to work
Where is the car parked at night
Bigger deductable usually lowers premium; but it’s a risk if you get into an accident that you have to come up with the cash to fix.
Questions to expect – name, date of birth, address, DL# and SS#, vehicles VIN, currently insured?, other drivers in household?, what kind of coverage you need
The best ways to lover your rate are don’t get tickets or have accidents, carry insurance for 6 months without a lapse and you will get a prior insurance discount on your renewal, have good credit, pay in full
when they ask if you work and how far. Tell them you work under 3 miles
having a car alarm
tell them there is no one else in your home that is a licenced driver
Your name, age, address, drivers license number, year make and model of the vehicle to be insured, mileage, how many miles (estimated) you will drive per year, and the use of the vehicle (Pleasure, work, commercial). Then of course they will run your driving record, any tickets or accidents will not be good.
The best way to get the best rate for you is to find an independent agent, not connected with any one company to do a search to see who might be best.
Remember, don’t drive without insurance. OH has the mandatory insurance law.
Good Luck lowering it!!! Its the “Boys” from the “50s” & “60s” that ruined this for young men drivers!! Having their car racing and so on, in those days!! The questions they’ll be asking you will be most likely who all do you want added on your insurance? Are you going to be allowing your “Buddies” to drive your car? And they’ll be wanting proof of residence, with your actual address on it, and I do believe it will be a couple of things with your address on it, like a bill from your parents with your last name, or if you have your own place bring in a couple of bills, and maybe a couple of I.Ds, like when you were in HighSchool, or maybe a credit card, or your Medical insurance card, a couple three things with your name on them and your physical address!! As far as question’s for “Young Men Driver’s” I dont know much about this, but I’m guessing it will be along the above lines, in which they may be told to ask, for their own coverage aspects, of the questioning part!! Being that your 25, your rates maybe a bit less, I’m not real sure about that part…… I feel sorry for the “Responsible Young Men Driver’s” having to pay for all those who “Flat-Out Blew-It” for you guys who are much more responsible with your cars, you know….. I called to get some “Guesstamates” for my 21 year old son’s car insurance, and they told me it would be around $1,100 every 6 months!! I could not believe how high it is nowadays, for young men!!! YIKES!!! They are taking these young men to the BANK!!! But, that was through “Farmers” it could very well be much cheaper should you try to go through someone such as “Geico” maybe…..Give them a “Jingle” to see what their rates are!! Also, if you have any family members who have been with a certain company for years, you could see if your family would be willing to do the “Family Package Deal” I’ve heard this is much cheaper….. Good Luck to you , hun!! Smile!!!
