I ust got my liscence, and I don’t have a car yet, but before I buy one, I want to look into what it costs to ensure one. I’m 18, and in college, so i cant afford to spend alot on car insurance. Does anyone know of good car insurance for first time drivers, and how do I go about getting it? I live in New Jesey…..

i would say geico its pretty cheap and if u are buying a car of the lot u will need to get full coverage for it well at leat here in tx u do
You can start by using a comparison web site or ever compare the comparison sites. These sites are very easy to use you just enter your details once and they get quotes from 100’s of companies and brokers. I used a web site called they have links to most of the comparison sites and car insurance companies.
There are many many insurance companies, and they ALL want your money. They will spend a great deal of money on advertising, telling you how great they are and how you are in good hands and so forth. Others will tell you that they will compare their rates with the competitors and give you the rates. NONE of these companies are what you are looking for. I would tell you to call several insurance companies, and the finally call New Jersey Farm Bureau and get their rates. Farm Bureau insurance is a co-op insurance firm, and they are in all 50 states. I live in Georgia, and have had my insurance with them since 1985…NO ONE has ever come close to their rates, and if you should have an accident, they stand behind you. You must have a clean driving record, and you must keep it that way. Good luck and I hope you get a great deal!
