Billy2468 asked:
A car wrongfully hit mine in a parking lot. At the time, I didn’t have insurance so that automatically makes it my fault? Well, this happened in August of 2006 and their insurance company is trying to call me to get paid. What is the statute of limitations on this? Also they have my name spelled wrong, so can they really find me?

if the other persons insurance company is trying to find you to get you to pay their damages, it sound sto me like YOU were found to be at fault. if their insured was at fault, they wouldn’t be coming after you for payment.
If they are calling you, they must have your telephone number. If they have your telephone number and a spelling of your name that is accurate enough to distinguish you from all other persons with the same telephone number, they can easily determine the correct spelling of your name.
I do not know the statute of limitations in Virginia. I do know of someone deciding years after the accident to sue someone over an accident in New Jersey.
Yes, they can take you to court cuz you didnt have insurance. they have to prove you were at fault. Judges dont look to kindly on ppl with driving with no insurance though. yes they can find you even if your name is spelled wrong. do they have ur plate #? the description of your car? they can find u based on that.
