that depends on what it was paid out for…property damage, bodily injury???
call your agent and talk to them
Chances are they will cancel you.
There are a lot of varibles such as your prior driving history, how many drivers and cars are on the policy, etc. but you can plan on 33% for a ballpark guess.
Brad Z, For car insurance the quickest method to get a free quote is do a auto policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage amounts, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same coverage area, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get easy auto insurance quotes, go to and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.
If you had a good record before, expect it to at least double, if not more. A friend of mine was on the losing end of a 50k dollar suit in an accident and his insurance was higher than most peoples car payments. You may also find it difficult to even obtain or maintain car insurance for a while, if your current provider doesn’t drop you you’ll probably be stuck with them for some time to come, and you should probably hold on to them because if you drop insurance all together they probably wont take you back for several years.
I’ve found some helpful info here too:
Take care.
