   who knows when the gas prices go down and goverment stops being selfish

   Depends why it went up.

   If it was just high because you were a new driver, then usually it will go down at age 25 or when you have 7 years of experience.

   If it went up because of a violation or accident, then it will go down after you demonstrate a consistent, safe driving record for 3-5 years.
