How do I make an car insurance claim for scratches through car owners?

vandalism maybe? but if its not so much, then just do it urself so u wont have to pay ur deductable.
That will be a tricky one you need to contact your Insurance Co and file a claim for the Damage they will tell you too get an est for the Repairs and then you will have too pay the deductible………..Good Luck and i Hope you dont have a 1,000 Deductible.
Why should the insurance company pay for your nephews clumsiness/carelessness…
Make him do summer work to pay for the damages… he’s be more careful in the future.
Your comprehensive deductible applies… per occurance. So for each time your vehicle was scratched (can be determined based on the different locations) a seperate deductible will apply. I doubt it’s worth filing 5 or 10 claims as I’m betting each loss will be under your deductible and there would then be a _very_ good chance your rates would go up (due to an excessive amount of claims being filed… even though you were not at fault).
Your nephew is under 18? If you really think someone should pay for the damage, I’d speak to the childs parents.
How much is your deductable?
If the repairs are less than your deductable you are better off just getting it done out of pocket.
Todd C is correct. for each occurence you will have to pay a deductible. Consider filing a claim under your nephew’s parent’s homeowner’s policy instead. You probably want to discuss this with them first, as their rates will go up.
you need to go to his parents and make them claim it on their homeowners policy…their kid, their problem. i just filed one like this on my insureds home policy where his son hit the neighbors car with his bike. as long as your nephew is a minor, they should be able to claim on their home policy.
I would settle out of pocket or pay for this yourself, each one of these scratches is a separate occurrence… which means for each scratch before your insurance will pay anything you have to pay your deductible for comprehensive/other that collision coverage. Typically this is $500 or so for each scratch… in the end your only going to end up with a higher premium and nothing from your insurance company to show for it.
