Can someone recommend a car insurance to cover my vehicle while visiting Mexico?

I have Progressive , but they will only cover 20 miles in from the border. We are traveling all the way into Michoacan, so that won’t help. I just want to know if someone can refer me to a legitimate car insurance for taking your vehicle into Mexico. You will find places that sell Mexican auto insurance in every border town in the USA. You might call a travel agent and ask them who they recommend to their clients.
They do not worry about insurance in mexico as a matter of fact they do not worry about it here.
If you belong to an auto club like AAA, they can help.

That is the maximum Mexico endorsement I have ever seen it is very minimal coverage at that. It is not the same coverage as you have when you are in the US anyway so I would not depend very much on it even if you were less than 20 miles from the border. What you can do is purchase Mexican insurance right before you cross the border. This is the best thing to do is the only place I know of that will provide you the coverage you should have while travelling in Mexico.
