car insurance
Morgan C asked:

I have cancelled insurance second day after I got it as I didnt buy the car I intended. In order to get refunded I need to return the certificate, which never arrived. I do not know if it is stolen from post box or it went to the wrong one or just simply never arrived. How do I prove that and get refunded after all?

I am in Texas an not too long ago I saw a commercial that said they offered insurance that covers whoever is driving your car. That you get the insurance and it will cover any person including yourself?

The insurance company paid me for the damages to my car and then I sued the person that did the damage. Is the insurance comany entitled to the money I was awarded in court, even though they did not participate in the court proceedings? In fact, I gave the insurance company information on the case and they did nothing to reclaim the money on their own.

Haven’t had a claim in over ten years
Haven’t gotten a ticket in probably 5 years.

But, the neighbor kid did $2K worth of damage to my car with his bike in three separate incidents. Basically, half of it will have to be repainted!

I’d really, really rather not go to court. His insurance is NOT an option in this case. He doesn’t have $2,000 laying around.

IF I go the much easier route of getting him to pay at least my deductible, how likely is State Farm to raise my rates with a, after deductible, claim of about $1500 or so?

Any relevant advice/comment is appreciated.
Killing the kid DID cross my mind for just the briefest of moments, but then I realized that might be overreacting just a tad! lol
Forgot to mention that I did file a police report AND the stepdad admitted his kid ( 4 years old!) most likely did it.

Again, just wondering if my rates will go up if I go the easy way and file a claim?
Insurance doesn’t apply due to it being on rental property.

My boyfriend has a car that is in his name, and he is fully insured through the car. But, I need to drive it every once in a while and I don’t want to be screwed if I get in an accident. Will his insurance cover me while I drive his car, if he gives me permission to, or do I need to get non-owner’s insurance to cover my ***? If so, what is the best company I can go to, or is non-owner’s car insurance called something else?

I have Progressive , but they will only cover 20 miles in from the border. We are traveling all the way into Michoacan, so that won’t help. I just want to know if someone can refer me to a legitimate car insurance for taking your vehicle into Mexico. Please give me any you know of either by site, or phone number, or even by name and I will look up the rest. Thanks

I was with the same insurance company for 10 years using the same local agent. My car insurance rates kept going up every time my policy was renewed. I decided to explore and see what better rates I could get with other car insurance companies. Friends and family gave me names of local agents from insurance companies they used. All the agents quoted me really high. Then, I called a major insurance company’s 800 number (not through an agent) and got the lowest quote. So, why do people use insurance agents? Is there a reason why it’s better to use an agent?

I was under the impression that my 2003 car had ABS (anti lock braking system) because my car dealer told me so, I bought it used. Accordingly during the online application for my car insurance I said that my car has an ABS System. Pretty soon after that I discovered that my car does not have such a system. I would like to inform my insurance because I do not want to have problems in case there is an accident. But will they cancel my insurance if I tell them the truth?
